Programs

Throughout the duration of MCMP events, programs and/or classes, there are opportunities for photographic and video coverage by MCMP which may include your participation or observance of the activity. MCMP reserves the right to use the photos and video at its discretion for media coverage and promotional materials, including broadcasts, reports, publications, social media and marketing materials of MCMP. If you do not wish to be photographed or video recorded at the event, please let the photographer or videographer know prior to being photographed or videotaped. MCMP shall otherwise assume that it has your permission to photograph or video you and/or your child's involvement and participation in this activity. Join a Park Educator for this super fun and exciting program all about water! This program is designed for children who are between 5 and 12 years old. They'll learn how to tell if water is healthy by studying the bugs that live in the creek for clues! Meet at the Yellow Creek Park parking lot area off Lowellville Rd. Dress for the weather. Ever wonder how Mill Creek Park was formed? For much of geologic history, Ohio was underwater and near the equator! Join us on the Cohasset Express Trolley as we travel back over 300 million years and explore the formation of the Park throughout geologic time. Learn about the bedrock of the Park and how the Ice Age shaped the Park that we all love. Where possible, we will hop off to investigate geologic features up close. Welcome to Metroparks Open Skate! Sundays 12-4pm. Aug-Oct. Bring your roller skates or inline skates to the DEK hockey rink for 4 hours of skating fun! Music and lights available when construction is completed at The Warming House. Skates are not available to rent. This event is open to the public for any ages. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
