Come join us on the Cohasset Express Trolley for a unique geological view of Mill Creek Park! We will board the trolley at Fellows Riverside Gardens (123 McKinley Ave.) and wind our way throughout the Park learning the geological story that formed the area. We will hop off at different stops to experience unique features up close and enjoy a hike along the Cascade Falls and Witch's Den. Back onboard the trolley, we will complete our geological journey with a relaxing ride on the East Cohasset hike & Bike Trail, leading us to the oldest rocks in the Park! 0.5-mile hike; moderately difficulty with steps and steep rocks. The Forest and Me Nature Camp Session 1-- The Forest Life Below My Feet
The Ford Nature Center is once again offering a three-week camp opportunity for children who will be entering grades 1-6 next school year (2025-2026) or ages 6-12. The goal of this nature camp is to directly address the nature-deficit that so many of our children experience because of too many hours indoors, in front of screens, or in organized social clubs. In each week-long camp, campers will be outside for nearly all their days, experiencing the beauty and calming influence that the forest brings. This summer, our nature camp theme is The Forest and Me. Week 1 will focus on 'The Forest Life Below My Feet' and run from Monday, June 9 - Friday, June 13, from 9:00am-1:00pm at the Ford Nature Center. During this week, campers will learn about the forest below their feet. We will explore soil, decomposers, rocks and geology, burrowing creatures, and life underwater. Each day will be filled with hiking, lessons, crafts, and fun activities designed to bring the forest life beneath their feet to life. Cost is $125 for five days of camp.
