Programs

Throughout the duration of MCMP events, programs and/or classes, there are opportunities for photographic and video coverage by MCMP which may include your participation or observance of the activity. MCMP reserves the right to use the photos and video at its discretion for media coverage and promotional materials, including broadcasts, reports, publications, social media and marketing materials of MCMP. If you do not wish to be photographed or video recorded at the event, please let the photographer or videographer know prior to being photographed or videotaped. MCMP shall otherwise assume that it has your permission to photograph or video you and/or your child's involvement and participation in this activity. Walk with a Geologist: Sawmill Creek Preserve

Join a park educator as we travel back in time to explore the geology of Sawmill Creek Preserve! Explore the powerful nature of water as we learn about the geology of the beautiful, exposed sandstone cliffs. Total distance hikes will vary 1 to 3 miles depending on the overall interest of the group. Meet at Sawmill Creek Preserve on South Turner Rd., Canfield. Strudy hiking boots or shoes are recommended. MetroCyclers Bike Trip

Meet at the E Newport Boat Launch Parking Lot for our bike trip along the E Newport Hike & Bike Trail. Bring your own helmet, bike, and source of hydration. National Collect Rocks Day

Join a Park Educator (and geologist!) to celebrate National Collect Rocks Day! National Collect Rocks Day is a fun, non-official holiday observed on September 16th. It's a day to appreciate and celebrate the world of rocks and minerals, and to encourage people to learn more about geology. We will be exploring Bear Creek for unique and cool rocks to find. Learn what type of rock you have found and how it was formed! Waterproof shoes or hiking sandals recommended - we will get our feet wet while exploring! Registration required.
