Programs

Throughout the duration of MCMP events, programs and/or classes, there are opportunities for photographic and video coverage by MCMP which may include your participation or observance of the activity. MCMP reserves the right to use the photos and video at its discretion for media coverage and promotional materials, including broadcasts, reports, publications, social media and marketing materials of MCMP. If you do not wish to be photographed or video recorded at the event, please let the photographer or videographer know prior to being photographed or videotaped. MCMP shall otherwise assume that it has your permission to photograph or video you and/or your child's involvement and participation in this activity. Golden Hour Stroll & Sunset Viewing

The 'Golden Hour' - a time when day becomes dusk, the sun begins to set, and evening awakens. Stroll on the MetroParks Bikeway during this magical hour, where every step reveals stories from the area's past. Enjoy a relaxing stroll learning about the Park's history while enjoying the setting sun. Relaxing 1.5 - 2-mile stroll on uneven paths, followed by sunset viewing over the farm. August Full Moon Hike: The Sturgeon Moon

Discover the trails of the area in a whole new way during this serene, full-moon evening hike. Guided by moonlight, participants will explore familiar pathways transformed by the sights, sounds, and atmosphere of the natural world after dark. Leaving Fords Nature Center, we will head to the Artist's Trail and hike to the Lily Pond. Along the route, we'll pause to listen and watch for nocturnal wildlife while taking in the peaceful beauty of the landscape under the glow of the full moon. On our return, check out the moths at Moth Nite! program. This moderate 2 mile, slow-paced hike is ideal for individuals who are comfortable walking in low-light conditions and are seeking a unique seasonal outdoor experience. Moth Nite!

Discover nature's nighttime pollinators: moths! Light sheets will be set up around Ford Nature Center to attract moths and other creatures of the night for an up close and personal experience. This is a great opportunity for photographers to get a shot of a variety of unique and beautiful invertebrates. Stop by Ford Nature Center from 8-10PM or stick around for the entire program to see even more invertebrate diversity! We'll have a crackling fire and light refreshments as well. Registration requested by 8/26. Drop-in/walk-ins welcome. No pets. FREE.

Fishing in the Park

Join us at the MetroParks Farm for a fun evening of fishing! This outing is primarily for youth anglers ages 3-12 years old and will take place at the MetroParks Farm Fishing Pond off the spur trail. Fishing equipment and bait is provided for all registered youth participants. A valid fishing license is required for participants 16+ years old. Call Wick Recreation Area for more details.

Tiny Tikes Soccer League (Ages 3-5) *FALL*

Join us for Tiny Tikes Soccer League this fall! This is a learning league that will run weekly on Saturdays at the Wick Recreation Area beginning on September 5, 2026, and ending on October 17, 2026. Weekly game times will vary between 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM. Participants will receive a MCMP-branded uniform (top only), one pair of black socks, water bottle, soccer sticker and drawstring bag. Athletic shorts, shoes/cleats, and shin guards are required but are not provided by Mill Creek MetroParks. Cleats must be non-metal tips. Shin guards can be purchased at the Wick Recreation Area team shop. Registration deadline is August 23, 2026. Cost is $75 for Mahoning County residents, $85 for non-Mahoning County residents.
