Programs

Throughout the duration of MCMP events, programs and/or classes, there are opportunities for photographic and video coverage by MCMP which may include your participation or observance of the activity. MCMP reserves the right to use the photos and video at its discretion for media coverage and promotional materials, including broadcasts, reports, publications, social media and marketing materials of MCMP. If you do not wish to be photographed or video recorded at the event, please let the photographer or videographer know prior to being photographed or videotaped. MCMP shall otherwise assume that it has your permission to photograph or video you and/or your child's involvement and participation in this activity. Join us for Farm Camp at the MetroParks Farm! The August session of farm camp will be held on August 3rd-6th. During the 4-day camp, participants will learn the fundamentals of various sports including archery, fishing, and disc golf. In addition to learning sports fundamentals, all participants will receive a MCMP-branded water bottle, camp sticker and drawstring bag. The registration deadline is August 3, 2026. Cost: $60 Mahoning County residents, $70 non-Mahoning County residents. Call Wick Recreation Area for more details.

Fishing in the Park

Join us at for a fun evening of fishing! This outing is primarily for youth anglers ages 3-12 years old and will take place at the Lake Newport Boathouse off of W. Newport Drive. Fishing equipment and bait is provided for all registered youth participants. A valid fishing license is required for participants 16+ years old. Call Wick Recreation Area for more details.

Catch a glimpse of local wildlife at sunrise on this guided interpretive kayak program on scenic Lake Newport. Kayaks available to rent or bring your own kayak. Ages 16+. Registration required.
