Programs

Throughout the duration of MCMP events, programs and/or classes, there are opportunities for photographic and video coverage by MCMP which may include your participation or observance of the activity. MCMP reserves the right to use the photos and video at its discretion for media coverage and promotional materials, including broadcasts, reports, publications, social media and marketing materials of MCMP. If you do not wish to be photographed or video recorded at the event, please let the photographer or videographer know prior to being photographed or videotaped. MCMP shall otherwise assume that it has your permission to photograph or video you and/or your child's involvement and participation in this activity. Join a Park Educator and learn about the history and memories of Ford Nature Center on this Throwback Thursday. Who has lived here? Why is it home to the Education Department? Enjoy a warm beverage (provided) as we learn the ins and outs of the beautiful Ford Nature Center! After the talk we will take an all-inclusive tour of the entire Ford Nature Center. Wildlife Track and Sign Hike - Collier Preserve

Animals don't cover their tracks. Head on out with a Park Educator to find and identify animal tracks and other signs of life in the autumn landscape of Collier Preserve. What we encounter is totally dependent upon the season and the activity of the wildlife on the landscape. Learn how to better distinguish coyote from dog tracks, identify woodpecker cavities, what scat tells us about an animal's life, and so much more. Recommended for ages 10+. Difficulty: Moderate. Join Park Educator for a walk along the East Gorge trail to learn the geology and history of the Gorge and Lanterman's Falls. Meet at Lanterman's Mill Overflow Parking Lot. The 'Golden Hour' - a time when day becomes dusk, the sun begins to set, and evening awakens. Wander from the Lanterman's Mill Overflow Lot towards Oak Grove during this magical hour, where every step reveals stories from the area's past. Enjoy a relaxing stroll learning about the Park's history while enjoying the setting sun. Relaxing 1.5 - 2-mile stroll on uneven paths. Don't forget to bring a camera!
