Programs

Throughout the duration of MCMP events, programs and/or classes, there are opportunities for photographic and video coverage by MCMP which may include your participation or observance of the activity. MCMP reserves the right to use the photos and video at its discretion for media coverage and promotional materials, including broadcasts, reports, publications, social media and marketing materials of MCMP. If you do not wish to be photographed or video recorded at the event, please let the photographer or videographer know prior to being photographed or videotaped. MCMP shall otherwise assume that it has your permission to photograph or video you and/or your child's involvement and participation in this activity. Forest Babies

Join Park staff for Forest Babies, a program for our youngest ones, ages 1-3 years old. Enjoy bonding time together while exploring the sights and sounds of the barns at Mill Creek MetroParks Farm and create a simple nature craft or complete an activity to take home. Rock the Park - a Geological Exploration of Mill Creek Park

Ever wonder how Mill Creek Park was formed? For much of geologic history, Ohio was underwater and near the equator! Join us on the Cohasset Express Trolley as we travel back over 300 million years and explore the formation of the Park throughout geologic time. Learn about the bedrock of the Park and how the Ice Age shaped the Park that we all love. Where possible, we will hop off to investigate geologic features up close. Join Ohio Certified Volunteer Naturalist Gary Davenport and a Park Educator to find interesting fungi of the area. Meet at the parking lot of McGuffey Wildlife Preserve (4448 McGuffey Rd, Lowellville, OH 44436). Hike may be up to 1.5 miles with uneven and wet terrain. Dress for the weather. Walk with a Geologist: Yellow Creek

Join a park educator as we travel back in time to explore the geology of Yellow Creek Park! Explore the powerful nature of water as we learn about the geology of the beautiful, exposed sandstone cliffs. Total distance hikes will vary 2 to 3 miles depending on the overall interest of the group. Meet at Hopewell Furnace Parking Lot. Waterproof shoes or hiking sandals recommended - we will get our feet wet while exploring, we will be crossing the stream multiple times to reach the Hopewell Furnace! Registration required. August Full Moon Hike: The Sturgeon Moon

Join Park Educators for a moon-lit evening walk through George L. Fordyce Park (formerly Mill Creek Wildlife Sanctuary) and enjoy nature's sounds and sights all under the Full Sturgeon Moon!
