Title: Ready, Set, GROW--Family Gardening Journey
Description: Have you ever wanted to have your own garden, but didn't have any idea how to start? Join park educators for Ready, Set, Grow--a Family Gardening Journey where you will learn the basics for growing your very own first garden. Ready, Set, Grow is a hands-on family gardening program. Each family will have their own 3X10 foot raised garden bed to plant, tend, and harvest from all summer long at the MetroParks Farm (7574 Columbiana-Canfield Road). The program runs from April-September (22 weeks) and includes lessons on basic gardening skills, hands-in-the-dirt time at your own garden, and other activities related to gardening. Program begins on April 6th, 2024, from 2:00-4:00pm at the Ford Nature Center (840 Old Furnace Drive), where you will be introduced to gardening by planting your own seeds. Subsequent classes will meet at the MetroParks Farm roughly twice a month on Saturdays from 2:00-4:00pm. Register one member from your family group by April 5th. All materials (garden bed, plants, tools, etc.) will be provided. $125 for program and materials. Registration required.
