Walk with a Geologist: Hidden History Edition

Description:

Step off the beaten path and uncover the hidden stories of the landscape during this two-hour exploration of the Hopewell Furnace (parking on Wetmore Drive). We will venture and cross the stream to discover the fascinating connection between geology and local history, revealing how natural forces and human activity have shaped the area over time. Participants can expect rugged and difficult terrain as we venture into lesser-known locations to discover rock formations, historic features, and forgotten traces of the past. Recommended for those comfortable hiking uneven ground and looking for a more adventurous outdoor experience. 1 - 2 miles over difficult terrain and multiple stream crossings.
