Programs

Throughout the duration of MCMP events, programs and/or classes, there are opportunities for photographic and video coverage by MCMP which may include your participation or observance of the activity. MCMP reserves the right to use the photos and video at its discretion for media coverage and promotional materials, including broadcasts, reports, publications, social media and marketing materials of MCMP. If you do not wish to be photographed or video recorded at the event, please let the photographer or videographer know prior to being photographed or videotaped. MCMP shall otherwise assume that it has your permission to photograph or video you and/or your child's involvement and participation in this activity. Fishing in the Park

Join us at for a fun evening of fishing! This outing is primarily for youth anglers ages 3-12 years old and will take place at the Lake Newport Boathouse off of W. Newport Drive. Fishing equipment and bait is provided for all registered youth participants. A valid fishing license is required for participants 16+ years old. Call Wick Recreation Area for more details.

Coffee With the Birds: Eggs!

This month we'll learn about the bizarre world of bird eggs. Savor a hot cup of coffee, tea, or hot chocolate with a mini lesson about bird eggs. Science Class (For Adults!): Stream Macroinvertebrates

Why let the kids have all the fun? The Science Class series invites ages 18+ to dig in to their natural curiosity and explore the living world with a Park Educator through hands on learning. Think of a seventh grade science class for adults! This season we will be learning about macroinvertebrates and what they can tell us about stream health. During the 4-day camp, participants will learn the fundamentals of various sports including archery, fishing, and disc golf. In addition to learning sports fundamentals, all participants will receive a MCMP-branded water bottle, camp sticker and drawstring bag. The registration deadline is June 8, 2026. America 250: MCMP - Ohio Outdoors: Exploring Natural Resources

Celebrate America's 250th birthday with a guided walk led by a Park educator as we explore the area's rich history through Ohio's monthly America 250 theme. This month's focus is Ohio Outdoors: Exploring Natural Resources. What better way to celebrate than with a hike highlighting the region's abundant natural resources? Along the way, we'll journey into the past to discover how local geology shaped the landscape and the resources it provides today. This moderate 2-3-mile hike follows natural terrain and includes steps and slopes. Meet in the Ford Nature Center parking lot. Register by 6/12, online or call 330-740-7107 x 129. No walk-ins.
